How this estimate works

The calculator turns your measurements into an approximate area of board, using simple rules of thumb for each project type. It converts the area to standard 8 x 4 ft sheets and adds a wastage allowance. It also gives a rough count of laminate sheets if you laminate the visible faces.

What it does not know

Your actual design, number of partitions or drawers
Your carpenter's construction method
Exact sheet sizes and thicknesses in your chosen brand
Special parts such as curved panels or countertops
